My favorite colors are the neon green and orange camo configuration.   If they were to come out with paint that stays on well,  I would try to duplicate the effect based off my kayaks existing colors.

I used to think that Bigfoot might exist. Then I saw the reality shows where they are looking for them.  Now I am certain they don't

well picked up the brown camo color as that is the only trident 13 they had with none coming in the near future so i figured i bought a bright paddle  a bright pfd and hat and maybe some reflective tape on it. with a flag when in the salt. very excited!!

That's the color pattern of the Trident 13 I bought last year and likewise go with yellow pfd and flag. I have also taken to carrying one of those compressed air horns since I almost got run into by a fast boat who was not looking where they were going  two years ago.

I thought of what my boat might look like a mile out in the pacific from a helicopter.. I thought camo, although very fashion forward might not be the best option. Although I ended up with a Bright Neon Green kinda camo boat.. (I told myself a comforting story about how Coast Guard pilots couldn't be color blind to do their jobs.)

No shame in a neon green yak. Golden Dog has one, the Uyeda brothers from Aqua Hunters had one. Its a good color. I suspect even the neon camo ones that green, orange or yellow would work just as well.

I have got a Werner Corryvreckan in a bright orange color for a paddle, and Flag. just to liven it up a little.

The brighter green camp colors from Jackson are awesome. Love the Dorado and Sexy Shad. It's a good compromise of kayak fishing sexiness and visibility.

As more and more Portlanders discover the Willamette is now clean, the number of ski boats and wakeboard boats is increasing exponentially.  On a weekend afternoon it's not uncommon to have one passing on either side of me, at speed.

I'm also a Pacific City doryman and I know how hard it is to see a kayak at sea, especially when a swell is running and the yaks disappear from view entirely when in the trough.  Flags help but are a very small target to see.

I'd suggest the brightest contrasting color you can get for your yak, along with a flag and reflective tape.

Here's my flag, it has a bent coat hanger sewn into it so it stays rigid. And the telephone pole it goes on.

Stealth black....with a dive flag so I can make sure it's still there when I pop my head up.

 ;D

Sincerely,

Jim
