Take it from a guy who used to live in Ninilchik and whose long term lady used to live in Juneau. Anchorage is much more desirable than Juneau. Plus, with all of the push to move the capitol and the fact that it has already begun, once that happens if/when, Juneau is going to die. Plus, property values are very high up in Juneau making it expensive to buy relative to jobs available. I was just up visiting friends and family in Juneau this past month and while it is an absolutely gorgeous place to live on those very rare days they see sun, I just have a hard time being hopeful about the future of that town.

Anchorage is centrally located and has a plethora of opportunities available, with some of the best Halibut, Clamming, and Salmon fishing all within a few hours drive.

PS: That Freddys in Soldotna is a nice one... at least it was about 10 years ago, lol!

Is it okay if I print up cards with the NWKA logo and you as point of contact?

Sure ...

-Allen

Yeah, in retrospect the card idea is a little enthusiastic. I'll just have stickers handy and let the staff have your email if they have questions. I'm really curious to see who's teaching.
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day...
Teach a man to fish and he will sit at his miserable job all day wishing he was fishing...

Kayak fishing presentation went well. REI had one of their in-store guys teach it- he said he's fished from So Cal to PDX to here. Name's Phil, says he's used Kayak Chef as a screen name if it rings bells with anyone.
There were about 10 people all together, not exactly the crowd I'd hoped for, but not bad. I made a pitch for NWKA, so maybe we'll have some new members from AK, and I'll have some people to fish with!  :hello2:
