Actually, Roy and I were fighting over the asshat this morning, it ripped down the middle  and we both have one to wear!!   :angel12:

Does that mean one of you is an ass and the other is a hat?  I won't ask who is which.

seen these? use with any FF, no need to restrict choices to "portable"
(not mine, but, I'll be buying or making one soon so I can switch between kayaks)

Liberator by Mad Frog Gear - Fishfinder Platform and Transducer Arm deployer about $31.00 to $38.00
http://www.madfroggear.com/liberator/liberator.html
The Liberator is a totally independent fishing electronics mounting platform. It was designed to keep your electronics components together, making them easy to add or remove from your boat; freeing them to be moved from boat to boat. You no long have to drill holes in your boat to run wires, or glue your transducers permanently to the inside of your boat’s hull.

The Liberator includes an oversized mounting platform and Mad Frog Gear’ exclusive Transducer Deployment Arm (TDA). Its unique design holds both your electronic unit and battery, even bulky portable units
mounted on a wide variety of accessory mounts (including, Scotty and RAM), it can be removed in less than a minute

Reminds me of CoosBayYakker's rig.

That Mad Frog Liberator looks like a great option for those using traditional sit-inside kayaks.  I'm just not sure how useful it would be for the SOT most of us paddle.
