I'm going to try to be there. Don't see any conflicts yet. Should have the new downrigger hooked up. It's killing me missing that deep water bite. Of course, by then, we might be getting all the action in 30 ft. I wouldn't mind that either ;D

Since I'm a slope worker, I will not be able to attend this seminar. However, if someone would be willing to record this, I would gladly make a nice donation.

Here's the brochure the Kachemak Bay Water Trail Committee put out.  Not sure if their description of the presenter  is quite accurate but I didn't write it. lol.

I will try and video tape it for those that can't attend!

I will touch base with you later on this. If you have the opportunity to record this, I need to know where to send the donation.

Thanks
Al

I will be at the seminar but unfortunately I will be leaving the yak at home. I have way too much to do this weekend.

Nice job last night Rudy. With people getting on the water today, I think we'll have some more Hobies on the water next year.

Thanks!  Kind of stressful speaking in front of folks who already know most of what i know whether it be the folks on this board or locals in Homer.  They sold both of their brand new Hobie PA14  and Outback they carted down there and I think they got orders for a few more.  I'll post a few pics later!

I got a part of it on video but the second half didn't record for some reason... likely operator error.  I will compile a few videos from my seminar this spring and get them posted at some point though.

int he mean time, You can try to access it via facebook at:

I have the salmon seminar video broken up into seven different segments.  Not very user friendly but it is all there!  I'll post here in a bit but the Homer Elks derby is October 1 & 2!!!!!!!

It's after the event but hoping for help info.
For the last two months I've been planning a two week trip to Homer centered on this idea of kayaking the K-bay Water Trail and specifically fishing Eldred Passage.
I've had great communication from accommodations  in Homer. Even had a B&B that was already booked find me alternate lodging.
I really appreciate that kind of service and love that about Homer.
The problem I'm having is on the other side of the bay. We had planned doing the yurts since by kayak the state cabins are a distance from the best fishing grounds for late October.
After communication attempts for almost 2 months I've been told that the yurts that were to be open now might not be avalable.
It's not a definitive no but I thought I would try to see if there were other ideas out there.
This trip was an idea of Jamie's for her 50th birthday so I'd hate to see it fizzle out.
Thanks for any input.

Email the address on the seminar brochure and ask.  I don't have much experience on the other side.  But there are places for rent I think.
