Nice set up, I'm checking out other trident setups to consider for mine.  This was an interesting link I saw last night.

I was originally looking for a prowler or Trident 13 but this was a good deal so I purchased it.. Its a bit heavier and 6-8 inches longer but I am not overly worried about it. I am now in the process of making a DIY version of the TrailTrekker cart for transporting it around. I do like the amount of rear cargo space and features this yak has so I don't see myself having any regrets.

I saw you pulling into IGA today as I was headed out of town. I think I saw you on a back road the other day behind the golf course not far from me. I will say hi next time I see you.

I am also from Grays Harbor and the fishing here is great.  A ton of helpful people here who can help get you onto the fish.  Welcome

Pleased to meet ya. I have been mainly fishing the Copalis, Hump and North River the past 2 years out here. I used to live in Nags Head North Carolina and worked off a charter boat. I miss the salt water fishing and have been really sad at the fish options from shore here in Washington (Hence wanting to get offshore.) Probably run across you at some point..

 LandofRath,
Looks like you have a pretty good start on exploring some of Grays Harbor's waters. Used to love fishing the Copalis River in my kayaks. A very peaceful and productive river. What part of the Hump are you fishing ? Anywhere below the forks can be tough from a kayak--- doable but challenging. Tide water can be okay if there aren't any nets in. There are a few nice holes just above Hwy 109 that I have been successful with. As with any tide water-- let the tide be your friend.... don't fight it.... go with it.
North River and Smith Creek should be turning on about now. Same with the upper Willapa. Gill netters have been working the Willapa River pretty hard the last few weeks-- but they don't get them all. Ever put in at Ward Creek and fish the middle river ? It is very kayak friendly and a great place to fish. Of course it is the closest river to home for me so I have fished it  a lot. A little far from Ocean Shores but you might want to consider it as another option.
I have fished Joe Creek-- right below Pacific Beach a few times with pretty good luck on silvers in October. Put in right at the bridge and have a go at it.
You also have the option to fish any of the rivers around Aberdeen and Hoquiam. All tide water--- but there are lots of fish in the Hoquiam River and the Wishkah and the Chehalis too. Been seeing a lot of boats at the south Monte boat launch lately and that usually means something.
Get out and explore a little. There are more places to fish than you will have time for. Go make it happen.

               Mark
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent
