I dunno Richard. I checked out their site and it's one tech motha'. It is definitely spendy at $1800 but there's a reason.

Lithium Manganese battery & GPS receiver included. 15 lbs (including battery). Speed controller w/ a digital gauge cluster. (charge status, remaining miles, speed, power consumption). Auto shutoff in case rider hulis. Can raise motor like a rudder. Transferrable to any kayak w/ mounting ball.
 
I dunno about efficiency and performance but I think that factors a lot into price as well. Whether all that is worth it to you is another thing.

Oh, I'm pretty sure Nanook has some sort of camelbak that will hold a six pack.

I have tried that with beer and margaritas. It's ok with ritas, no foam or carbonation....beer doesn't work, unless you enjoy drinking all foam....and then there's the fact that the waterbladder will forever taste like whatever beverage you put in it.

I got a chance to try the Torque and the Nalu....

The Nalu is a blast - I'm totally sold on one. Way easier to use than a regular paddleboard and I can fish off it.

The Torque is cool - I prefer to paddle, but if you like a powered boat I think most people will be blown away by how easy it is to use and how smooth the whole system is. Of course you have to be able to afford it

anyone remember if they mentioned how long the battery charge lasts? i can't seem to find that information in anything previous here. .

I read that after 7 hours of use the battery still read 60% full. I think that was from Norcal Kayak anglers.

Which reminds me...on its classifieds NCKA has a list of vendors that offer discounts to NCKA members. Are there any vendors that offer us discounts?
