It fits well, doesn't breathe, looks cool and hopefully will keep me dry.

Doesn't breathe? Do you mean leak? The breathability of the fabric is super important.

Well, granted I'd been running around a bunch last night and sweat a bunch anyway, but it was pretty humid in the thing. I was really glad I tried it on before tomorrow morning for two reasons - it took about 10 minutes to get into, and now I know I won't need much on underneath it.

It was also my first time in a dry suit, to maybe that's the way it'll be. My semi-dry gets me pretty sweaty, too. Then again, I sweat washing dishes and vacuuming...

That's the secret fish dance! ;D
That Andy and Bax poly pro underwear is fleecy on the inside and kinda slick on the outside. That lets the suit slide on and off much easier. Something you might want to consider with what ever you have on under the suit.

now I know I won't need much on underneath it.

I would not count on that! Walking around in the air is not a good "test". :nono: If you want a better "test", fill the tub with cold water, add a sack of ice, get in and read a book. If you can't get through a couple of chapters comfortably, you need more underwear.  Don't forget, unless your trolling, actually fishing involves a lot of sitting still. If you get too warm you can always get out or hang your legs overboard.

Finally, breathable is relative. Slightly damp sounds like its working ok as "not breathable" would leave you soaked in sweat in 10 minutes sitting still.  I like to have a wicking layer against my skin and a insulating layer outside of that.

... it took about 10 minutes to get into, ...

What makes it so tough getting into?  Takes me maybe a minute to get into my dry suit.  Two minutes if you include the external booties and gloves.

Ya, it came with some lubricant that I put on it to help. Thinking about heading out to Nehalem Bay tomorrow and crossing the bar to open up a whole new world. I'm now invincible with my life jacket and dry suit!

a word of caution there, Superman: "none of us is as dumb as all of us" pretty much sums it up.. fancy dry gear is nice, pfd at all times even better, showing off now that you have both of them, nnnnnnnnnn maybenotsosmart..

just take it easy and enjoy the novelty of that new world. and show us what ya catch there.

Ditto others' caution.  I suspect you didn't mean it, but no amount of gear makes you invincible.

I was out around 8am yesterday at Richmond Beach.  Headed SSW into a 5kt wind.  Hooked up and lost one on my very first cast.  SSW wind came up quickly to 15 kts, 6 hours ahead of the forecast, and while there were still lots of fish jumping in the 2 ft chop and lots on the FF (between 175-225 FOW), I called it a day.  Besides spending more time paddling back into position than fishing, it was becoming hazardous.  As soon as I stopped paddling and started fishing the boat turned broadside to the the wind and chop and I could not pay attention to either fishing or conditions.  Rode the wind back.  I could have used a drift sock (I have one) or pedal drive.
