It was an interesting float. It was about 8 miles long, with lots of slow water. The smallies were mostly near rocky/gravelly areas with some definite current. Two holes provided a majority of the action, with a couple of smaller areas giving up singles. Lots of paddling/rowing in between and at the end. We were bucking the wind, so we got a workout.

After looking at my photos, it seems I had 2 19"+ fish. The smallest (dink?) was 15 1/2".

Caught my biggest fish on the spinbait seen in the photos. Caught most of them on the flyrod, using streamers. I must have caught 8-10 in one hole- it was non-stop for over an hour.

That 19.5" cow (last set of photos) had the biggest belly I've ever seen on a smallie. :o It was so fat, it just stood on it's tail and shook it's head. Too fat to really run or fight!

Bill Murray??  ::) It was a "Ground Hog" experience the way it was hookup after hookup. >:D

Richard, whatsa matter with the shirt? That's about as staid a short sleeve shirt as I own. It does seem to work as camo, in those kind of conditions.

Spot, after seeing YN's photos, I think my PFD is hidden under that shirt... ::) :P It was 70 out, and the water was 60. Not very many hazards, unless I fell and cracked my noggin on one of those oars. :-\

CBY, if you hit the Umpqua at the right time of the year, around Elkton, I bet you could have the same kind of experience.

DakotaCamper found it on the Bellingham Craigslist, and I bought it the day before Easter.
