There's a thread where yakkers were harassed (ticketed??) by wildlife officers because trhey paddled "too close" to basking seals, or sea lions.
Gotta cover yer ass!
Never underestimate the ability of our policymakers to fail to devise and implement intelligent policy

Kalli's right, CBY... NCKA has a whole thread devoted to the harassment by "officials" thing and also a very recent one on this very same topic... this last one also has some pretty cool pics of smaller seals sitting on the fore decks of members yaks, tho there were reports of yakkers being attacked by both species... seems we aren't the only ones concerned but we may have fewer incidents..

which reminds me.... 2 years ago, hooknose and i went up the mouth of the nisqually and we had one or two follow us up to the I 5 bridge... needless to say, neither of us hooked up, tho we did have them jumping around us.
