I vote for PC or Hobuck. Hobuck is about the same distace from Seattle and Portland, plus we could all camp together.

That sounds like a bro-down to me!  ;)  I'll bring the Jack Johnson!  Who's bringing the Natty Ice? :D

Do you guys have any recommendations as far as the best way to ease into salt fishing is concerned?  While I'm new to kayak fishing, I've spent a considerable amount of time on canoes/kayaks on freshwater lakes back in the midwest where I originated from.  I'm planning on getting familiar with my boat on Lake Washington before going near the salt, but am wondering what I should expect transitioning from the lake to South/Central Sound to North Sound/Strait and Washington Coast.

From my own experience, Depoe Bay was an excellent venue to cut your teeth in the salt. You can catch a little swell and see how your kayak handles without the beach launch/landing. If there's enough swell you get some dirty water coming off the wall.

C.G. and charter boats are usually not too far off. Also a very good place to practice VHF etiquette.

The sound is very mellow salt most of the time. Boat chop and wind waves are a different animal to ocean swell. With that said it is an easy place to get a little salt time under your belt. Pier 91, Golden Garden and Sea Crest offer some very easy, lake like entry points.
