I'm not going to make this event as I have to run up to Portland.

To clarify, I've received info that the kayak is the top Youth prize while the Trager BBQ is the top adult prize.

I just checked those grills out. Not sure which one it will be but i don't think it really matters. They look sweet!

I will be making the run(long one) up to this derby most likely.
See ya on the water..

I'll be staying at the Newport Comfort Inn.  My first event in my kayak (orange Hobie Outback). Also my first time using my newly installed Humminbird!  Good luck to everyone!

I hope the weather improves a bit, it's like a hurricane out there right now! If the weather sucks at least it will keep the competition down to a minumum

Drove up there and didn't even get on the water.

It was a zoo! must have been 200 kids running around. The parking was so bad by the time i got there i would have had to park a 1/4 mile from the launch and walk up this big hill. I wasn't feeling it so I just donated a couple things for the derby and watched snarf pedal around the corner.

Willie, the guy running the thing was surprised by the crowds, even on a dreary day. I think they lucked out on the weather because a few miles down the road it was raining constantly all the way home.

Did it stay decent Snarf? Did you win anything?

Dana, Stonefield is way better then Bob's..About half as big of waves today...

On the water about 7:30 and off about 1:30.  Caught 1 fish about 9 in. that came off right at the yak.  Very slow for everybody.  The only person I saw with a limit trolled back and forth in front of the netted area for the kids all day!  My Humminbird was only marking fish at 50 ft. or more.   Fished every point and structure that held fish but couldn't get it done at depth.  Weather was okay with light mist/sprinkles off and on all day.  So no joy in the prize department!  Had a good time with the family though and that's worth more in my opinion ( says the guy who almost got skunked!)
