Watch the video   labeled   " Self Rescue ".      It's as easy to right  back up as a SOT...    ;D
If you could manage to flip it over,  you'll see it actually dumps most of the water out as you right it.   You can still get in and paddle.
Stability wise, it's almost like a boat.  There's no way you will roll this over without getting out of your seat and sitting on the side rail.   You can take a leak over the side even..  try that in any other kayak !  (no need to piss in your wetsuit..)    Depending on conditions, most of the time a wetsuit isn't needed.  Notice in the video where I get out of the seat and turn around, I'm wearing jeans.
So far, I've not tipped it over (or anyone else I know  for that matter )  in the surf.    One guy was testing it standing up paddling down the Oakland estuary for his first time. He did flip it over as he stepped onto the dock ( fully clothed ).   He bought two of these a week later and is now my dealer in VA.
Another guy met me out at Moss Landing in February with rain and the wind gusting to 20 knots and 8-10' swells for his test paddle.   I just sold him a demo boat last week.
Don't get me wrong here,  I'm not saying this is better than a SOT for surf entry.  2-3' surf is no problem, you won't take water in .  I've managed to roll both, my  Scrambler and Tarpon over the years, not always in the surf either.  With the Raptor,,, "it ain't gonna happen"  except for possibly in the surf, depending on your skills.   Still, it doesn't hurt to be prepared.

BTW.   Those reviews and comments posted were done by people I'd only just met.  That's the best kind of word of mouth advertisement you can get.   They're not sponsored " SCK Fishing Team" members, or associated in anyway.    Also,   all of the video's that you see were all un-rehersed.   That was the first time I'd ever flipped the boat over to test it.

With that Torqeedo motor this thing flies  !!!    great trolling too.

So bring one to ORC .... and be careful of how you advertise.
Telling people to wear jeans in the ocean in the Pacific northwest will cause a lot of folks to completely shut down to what you have to say.
This aint SoCal ... getting wet in cotton can kill up here.

You Tube video... search Santa Cruz Raptor for surf in and out.   Those videos were not recorded at the best place, next to the pier.  A short break occurs there.    The boat was the first one out of the mold after months of waiting...  It was 10 lbs heavy in the bow.     We should be able to get some more good shots  within the next few weeks,,  unless Murphy shows up again...

Yeah, your absolutely right about the cold and precautions that should always be taken..   Santa Cruz is not  SoCal.  Water temp here is 52 degrees...  (saw 49 degrees up at Ano Nuevo last week due to upwelling )  I'm not "advertising" to wear jeans... just pointing out  it's a "dry ride"  and the confidence in not tipping over.   We didn't launch from a beach, If so I'd have dressed differently.

Hope this doesn't sound defensive at all ,, just trying to explain the best I can.

Crabbing  !  This thing'll allow you to rig a crane  with the aft end stability it has.
