Maybe now the extremists will focus on the real issues, not what's best for California and other parts of the world.  Since we recreationals are more regulated by weather and conditions maybe they should focus on over harvest/bicatch by the commercials!  What a novel idea and where the problem actually exists.

uh, wait..what? a former governor can defy the ruling of the sitting gov't, and force the state to fund this all over again by raiding the coffers of the state environmental management agencies?
As of July 12th, I am, officially,  retired.

WR, Gov. Kiitzhaber is both- the former governor and the current governor.

Quote
They contend that marking off specific offshore areas is an arbitrary act of human beings who unjustifiably declare that a given area is “pristine” or somehow less affected by human activity or global ocean dynamics. They describe the ocean as a huge system, all connected together that appears, at times, to defy smaller scale scientific theories that seek to explain ocean trends in terms of water conditions, fish and mammal habitat and other factors.

I love this quote.

This is what I was hoping for. Time to write the Governor some more letters.
