Just saw this:

PZ 131 Central U.S. Waters Strait Of Juan De Fuca-

Tonight Through Sat Night
E wind 10 to 15 kt. Wind waves 1 or 2 ft.

Sure it may get nasty, but I'm willing to give it a go. At least there will be some sun.

This is the one to look at for 4b, With the swell you will see some sizable surf on the incoming tides, it is a shore break at Seiku mouth, the winds don't apply there.  I doubt it will be a big problem, could end up being nice, The Easterly winds could be a problem but I sort of doubt it.  Pretty sheltered water, .  Currents can be a bear, pretty big exchange on the outflow, park a car at the river mouth and one past Shipwreck point if you can, there is an eddie off Kydaka Point that gets rough, don't know if you can ride it 2 ways, haven't tried.  Doubt very much I can go, been fishing too much lately.

Hmm the small craft advisory is through saturday...

Don't think I'm gonna try Seiku area, but I'll be checking the forecasts for next weekend etc.

Lets hope for a break in the weather

I will be camping at Salt Creek starting the 29th, anybody else up for the weekend in area 6???  Only thing that would throw a wrench in the works is strong east  wind and fog...don't ask me how I know, I had a nasty experience
fishing for butts outta Seiku a few years back, my wife said I was sheet-white for 2 days after.  But that's another story.

Next weekend looks much calmer! If the forecast holds up, I'm tempted to go back to Hobuck or somewhere on the strait for a night or two.

You guys didn't miss much this weekend out at Hobuck. I fished a solid day on Saturday and only managed a few greenling and one keeper lingcod. I broke off too REALLY good sized lings b/c they hammered my greenling jig in the kelp and there was no way I was getting a 30"+ ling out of the kelp with 8# mono and a 2000 series reel.
Fishing out further was really tough as the swell and wind were hammering the rocks and the reefs made for several sets of far out breakers. Trying to fish and keep from drifting into the rocks was exhausting!
Saturday night the storm kicked in about midnight and we got howling winds and driving rain. Woke up to white caps in the bay and a even heavier surf. We went to the Mekah Museum instead.
If you haven't checked it out you should. Defiantly worth the $5 for adult admission.

Good luck next weekend!

Happy to hear got one good day of fishing at Hobuck! Can't wait to get out there soon.

I'm headed to Hobuck later this week if the weather forecast holds.
