The coast is blown out with over 10 foot swells for the next week plus  :-\ .

I was thinking of launching somewhere around Port Angeles, looking for salmon primarily, though I'll be bringing bottomfishing gear too. If anyone wants to come along shoot me a PM.

Still plenty of fish in Crescent Bay, 90% Blackmouth, I'm sort of tired of putting the hurt on them so am thinking I'll wait till Oct. 1 when I can keep them.  On a big west swell paddle to the NE of the Rock and stay close and you should be able to get in and out.  Might be some serious waves there too,  Stay off Tongue point as there are sneaker sets.  Quite doable if you are competent in the surf.  Just might join you.  Freshwater Bay is always launchable.  Bottom fish are abuandant in area 4 and the west swell sometimes blows right by.

I wouldn't mind getting after some Salmon, but would prefer bottom fishing.  I can only go Sunday though.

I'm headed out to Hobuck Saturday and Sunday. I'm sure I'll get wet and roll a few times in the surf but it is calling to me .....

10' West Swell???  You sure bout that.  I'm a surfer but in a boat sounds brutal, might be fun to try but I think I'd leave the gear out the first time, course if you do make it out you gotta get back in.  The strait side can be a blast too.

The forecast seems to have improved on Magicseaweed, only a 7 foot swell on saturday!

Hmm you gotta release the Chinook, maybe I will go bottomfishing after all  8).

After doing some more research, Seiku area looks fishable for bottomfishing and salmon. Open to other options.

Just checked the WDFW regs MA 5 - 6 no Chinook retention till Oct 1.

Area 6 West of Ediz hook line open native and hatchery Chinook and Coho in Oct. Only 1 king allowed.  Area 5 is open to native and hatchery coho at the present.  You can only keep 3 black or blue rockfish west of slip point at Clallam bay, 1 east.  If you Launch at the Seiku River mouth you can fish Salmon by Kydaka Point and cross the river and fish ling in area 4.

Rockfish and Cabezon is open in A4 all winter, so if we get a break, I'm getting a cabin at Hobuck.
