AJ, I've read several of your posts and I must say that I'm kind of attracted to, but also freaked out by your writing style.  I write professionally, but you're in a different league, my friend.  Kind of a Stephen King meets Mr. Rogers thing going on there....  Keep it up!  ;)

Aww, thanks, Waterman.  That's a very kind thing to say.  You should pour a stout drink, click on the forum heading of Chum Bucket, and make yourself my neighbor.  There may even be lurking a puppet show therein.  Or maybe, by puppet, I mean a flatulence-based victim with a badge.  Nonetheless, I am glad that you enjoyed Piggy's birthing into the forum.

Speaking of our fair sow, said BBW took a trip down the Tualatin this very eve.  Lots of girthy carp jumping, but nothing to speak of in terms of hooked and bonked table fare.  Mmmm, phosphorus tainted fish bits.

Gotta say: standing whilst driftin' and castin' is grin-makin' fun. Paddling back upriver is but a chore.  When I get Piggy's saddle tightened and make good with a training regimen, I may be able to travel in a straight line.  Until then, I'll be thrusting toward that paddle like a tortoise humping a Croc.  Yep, capitalized like the shoe.  Because it is a shoe.  Google it.  Find the version with Sir David narrating.  You're welcome.

Putting Piggy to bed had me listening to her breathy desires to acquire deck blood.  So, a sick day tomorrow shall be.  We're gonna waltz among the trout and make good on my cooing of "soon, baby, soon."  If any of y'all are Haggfishing, we'll be there circa noonish.

WR,  You are correct sir if you are referring to the downward deflection of the nose of the board.
To avoid the threadjack, here is a link to my full review of this boat/board and it will explain the design.
It was my last contribution and my "fare thee well" to the NCKA before signing off.

Thanx for the link, Yes i was referring to the nose of the board. Seems counter intuitive.
As of July 12th, I am, officially,  retired.

Jade.. You are a serious pusher ;D.  I never thought I'd ever be surfing the web looking at SUP's.  Piggy looks like someone I might need in my fleet.  I think oversized sturgeon off of a SUP would be epic.

Pelagic, I think you are right.  Embrace the desire, rise to your feet, welcome the fattness into your life.  There are lots of homeless pigs out there; I am sure one would love to be adopted by you.  Native watercraft's Versa board looks fun, too.  As does spidey's crazy ass pointy board.  As does the notion of a high end inflatable.  Marion Lake hike in NWKA SUP brodown?

Oh, and spidey, why did you have to go and drop those sexy paddles onto my lap? So much temptation.

Many of you have probably already seen this, but given Pelagic's mention of big fishies from a SUP I feel it deserves to be re-posted   :headbang:

If he got bit, would that fall into the "provoked" category?

Bailing on work to get on her again?!  Sounds like love + stoke = permagrin.
Again, congrats on the addition to your harem!
I took a closer look at the Yolo platform and now Im going show her to my paddling compadres. They are XXL class and with fishing and day trip tackle, they will overwhelm my SUP.
The Yolo may be more than just pleasantly plump and looks like she could handle the plus size dude.
I also like the keel vs the skegs. My skegs are already looking beat up and they have grabbed rocks in riffles that have thrown me forward. That clean, flat, and ready to rig deck is just asking for some tech.
Really looking forward to your reports and watching her evolve.

Liquid lifestyle produced "The ultimate guide to stand up paddling" and it helped me get a jump on the learning curve. That, and some light training on the Indo board. If you consider balancing your wine while on the board training.

Oh, and regarding your exposure to the whiskeyjack paddles?
please, please, please! dont play the victim card with me sir.
Its your fault that we looked at the Yolo site.
Ill give you one guess who is going to "need" one of these.

Oh hi, mermaid! She's prettier than the ones at Hagg.  Hydro, I am glad that you are YOLO curious.  I am willing to bet that your pals will enjoy the pig ride.  She handles rocky and shallow like the muddy wallow from whence she came.  Oh, and that perma-grin you speak of? It has something to do with catching my first, and second, bass. Ever.  Piggy can now say the same.  I know it isn't much to look at, and that you fellas have morning dookers bigger than this fish, and that you make the internet cooler by posting pictures of car-sized halibut, but hey, I am damn proud to have finally caught one of these buggers.  I have drank from Chad Hoover's Kool-aide cup and am now hooked.  The tail walking, the stripping of line from my four and a half foot Ugly Stick, the crazy bendo, the darting for every imaginable cover - good god these fish are fun! I didn't think a bass would be the fish to break Piggy's hymen, but the trout were lockjawed.  So I hit the warm creek arms and had at it.  Thanks goes out to INSAYN; his lure suggestion, albeit one for trout, is Pig Rider approved.  Cheers, buddy.  OK, Jade needs a beer now.
