Mounting Transducer

Accurate?
It usually reads the same as everybody else around me (although the temperature reading seems to be pretty consistently one degree higher). It also works great for setting my downrigger.
 I think the vasaline should make a better couple, but I never bothered.
(well, at least between the transducer and the boat )

Well I went out on thursday and apparently I did not goop it rite and the transducer popped loose, so I tried another method I had read about and it works like a charm.
I made a U shape with goop/silicone let it dry then put about 1/3 inch of vasoline on the bottom of the transducer and stuck it down. I went back out on Sat. with this method and it worked great trans. stayed in place all day and got accurate readings.
