I'm looking for a burlap bag. I've used a wet towel. It was green. White might be more reflective of the solar heating.
I also brought a white 5-gal bucket out when fishing along the jetty here on a cold day. Had it positioned behind my milk crate in my rear well, and just tossed rockfish over my shoulder into that. Didn't want blood running out of my scuppers. I figured if I got a big ling, i'd just paddle in and run it up to my cooler in my rig, and take a break.

I found this Surf to Summit bag on sale at a local store and thought it looked interesting.
It measures out at around 29" length, 20 inches wide tapering down to 7 inches.
I haven't decided if I want to keep it as it seems a bit small length wise compared to other fish bags such as the YakCatch but I really like the construction and shape of this bag.
They make a 43" model, but it's way too long. I figured any fish over 30" I can alway bend the tail up to get the zipper closed or worst case scenario I'll have the back fins stick out. I really like the wide mouth on it.
I was looking for some feedback from some of you guys who use fish bags on the size of this bag

Seems short.  Whether to keep it or not may depend on what fish you are targeting.  Lots of salmon and lings are over 29".  It does fit well on the short nose of the yak.

I have a bigger bag.  You can always give me any of your fish that are too big for that bag.  Especially if they are salmon.  I won't even charge you.

I have the 42 inch yak catch bag and like it.  It fits nice on the bow of my Adventure and on a Revo.  You don't need to do any mods to fasten it either.  The two front clips will fasten to the bow handle and the two rear will attach nicely to the hatch bungies.  On my Outback, I throw it in the rear tank well with the rest of the gear.  However, I have only brought it with on my Outback while salmon fishing.  I have not been in the position of having to constantly open and close it like I would fishing for rock fish.   I may look for a way to mount it on the front of the Outback soon.

Here is how the 42 inch Yak Catch looks fastened on the Revo bow patiently awaiting Nate's newly gaffed halibut yesterday.  It may be a hair long on the Outback.  When I get time, I will check.

Granted mine is considerably shorter than the 42" yakcatch, but it's really wide mouthed. 20" tapering to 7".
I'm just asking here, but if I got a larger than 29" fish couldn't i just curl it up in the bag where its head is at the bottom shorter part of the bag, body bent in the middle, and tail bent upward at the larger opening of the bag? In theory I should be able to get fish much larger than 29" in it if i lay the fish in curved. The fish doesn't HAVE to be straight as a board when it's in the bag does it?

They should be as straight as posible.   When the fish goes stiff (rigor) in a bent position and you straighten it out at the end of the day to fillet, the layers of the fillet get pulled apart which ruins the quality of the finished product.  The table fare quality goes south as it dries out excessively when cooked.

Gotcha. That makes sense. I may just step up to the 43", it's a bit larger than I would have liked but it will be good to leave the milkcrate home more often to have room for the bag.

I checked my Yak Catch bag on the Outback today and it seems to fit just fine on the front deck.
