I'm seeing two good looking products, anyone got a recommendation?

Creative Feathers Insulated Kayak Fish Bag - $74 at Austin Kayak

PrecisionPak YakCatch3 - $54 at Walmart.com

Both are about 41" long and should hold decent size Chinook.

Thoughts?

All of the available options work very well, but don't discount the $2 burlap coffee bag w/techni ice or blue ice. It form fits in any tankwell, dunk it every 1/2 hour you get evaporative cooling. When you're done fishing, turn it inside out, dunk it in hot soapy water, dry it in hot sun for sanitization. You'll get to spend more on bait and tackle. Buy 2 or 3 and rotate them, they last for years.

Added bonus, Juan Valdez might give your kids burro rides.

I've been using the Yakcatch3 for a while now and am pretty happy with it. It does the job very well and you get ice cold fish at the end of the day.

And still good prices at Boater Barn as Zee pointed out a while ago.  In fact, I just ordered one last week.

LRG, $38.13 ... http://www.boaterbarn.com/precisionpak_yak_catch_3_lg_32551_prd1.htm
MED, $32.26 ... http://www.boaterbarn.com/precisionpak_yak_catch_2_medium_32550_prd1.htm

Based on reviews here I got a YakCatch3 a month ago and love it.  The tapered design fits perfectly on the bow of my Revo.  Much, much easier to use than the Katch Cooler I was using and not much more expensive.  By chance the front 4 clips (narrow end) match up perfectly with eye pads I installed for the bow lacing.  Not clipping the two clips on the opening end still allows me to access the bow hatch if I need.  Paid about $40 on line.  I use the internal dry bag to contain the TechniIce.

Couple of photos.

I was going to go with something like the Yakcatch, or the Catch Cooler, but found that a big ($16) 30"x 16" light colored dry bag with two frozen Gatorade bottles works fine for me.  Holds a limit of salty fish just fine, and can bleed them right in the bag.

Sixteen bucks?! You splurged on that thing INSAYN. I was reading the thread, anticipating getting to your post and seeing something fabricated with diamond plate, maybe a compressor or some refrigeration coils and even some LED's for under $10.  ;D

A kayak fisherman buddy from Florida suggested this to me once:

"When I catch a fish I want to keep, I soak the towel in water, wrap the fish in it, then put it inside the duffel bag and shove it inside the fish box. That keeps the fish wet & quiet, and it won't slime the inside of the fish box. If you need to keep fish cool, put a frozen plastic bottle of water inside the duffel bag."

I think Squidgirl has one of those installed on her kayak.  Back in 2009 ORC we could hear that over the VHF from time to time.  ;D

Well according to me nets would work quite better as bags aren't big enough to carry large fishes....

A net doesn't really have the ability to keep a fish cold while its sitting in the sun or keep blood out of the water while fishing in the ocean.  These are the two main reasons I use a catch bag.  Sure when it comes to really big fish, like a 40 lb. halibut, these bags probably won't cut it.  But that's a problem we'd all like to be faced with I'm sure!  ;D I usually keep a large gunny sack on board when I'm targeting fish of that size.  I wouldn't use a net for a 40 lb. halibut from a kayak though, just as an example.  That's a lost fish and a torn net just waiting to happen IMO.
