Just a quick report on the weekend bite.
Saturday I trolled from Ferry Road Park all the way up to the Marshfield channel. I made the mistake of not bringing extra lead or flashers...got hung up and lost everything. While packing up on the water I wasn't paying attention and the wind drifted me into the shallows and I bent one of the rods on my mirage drive. Double whammy.

Today I got up at 5:30 am and slowly got ready to go. Heavy fog made it pretty interesting with about 75+ power boats zooming all around. I landed a nice 31inch hen in less than an hour on the water. A guy asked if I wanted him to net my fish and I politely declined :)
It sure does feel good to land a chrome bright King with all those power boats watching.

I'm happy to have some eggs to cure for drift fishing later in the season! It definitely makes up for my crappy Saturday.
I had her filleted out before I could take any pictures but she wasn't a monster so it's no biggie.

Nice report.  I always like when the PBrs watch me land a nice fish.   I'm going to head down there and fish the coos tomorrow.

I read somewhere that a lot of guide boats make everyone wash their hands with Lemon scented Joy dish soap before the get on the boat. I bought some Joy yesterday and tried it out...I'm not sure if that really had anything to do with it.  ???

make sure it is "non-ultra" lemon Joy....nice fish, I always love getting that quick hook-up.  my son and I hit the jackpot last week from the PB, I took a limit Thur and I netted 2 for him on Fri (pics and video posted at OFF)..90# of chinook from perhaps 4 hours of trolling.  nothing big hooked from the kayak yet but heading out again later this week (after I get a bigger freezer!)...cheers, roger

I caught two today and no dawn soap. I will scrub my hands in the water I fish and thank god for the opportunity. Then I fish. I have seen guides do the dawn soap and also pledge????Lemon.
