I just about got an Adventure Island today off Craig's list.  $1450 for everything.  Someone beat me to it by about 10 minutes. >:( :'(

I don't know if I know personally, but you are now my nemesis.   I just want you to know my kids went to bed crying last night because they really wanted that set-up.  ;)  OK, maybe it was me that was crying himself to sleep. :)

I am glad to see a fellow NWKAer got it.

I am considering an adventure also. I want something fast to use in the ocean so i can get to my fishing spots faster. I hear mixed reviews on the stability. Some people say it is the best boat for the ocean and can handle big surf, but others say it is tippy. I have an outback now and feel safe in pretty nasty conditions, but more speed would be great in the ocean. I dont want to buy an adventure and have to worry about it flipping. I can get a good deal on a new adventure. Does anyone know if they are "lowrance ready" like the new revos and outbacks?

There is always a trade-off between stability and speed. Fast boat will be unstable by definition. I think that "liftable" sidekicks will be able to help on this matter. I always see the speed in the perspective of "less effort". If one can get from A to B in 2 hours and I can do the same thing in 1 hour, I actually can do it in 2 hours with 1/2 of the effort other guy makes. It is important, as your may unexpectedly run out of "fuel", and "refueling" process take hours you don't have.

They are not. There is no difference between Addy 2013 and Addy 2014 except for the price, which is $50 higher for 2014 model.

Other than getting a demo I'm not sure how your main question will be possible to answer since everyone has a different comfort level in terms of stability.

I have known guys who huli'ed an adventure and he is very salty. It really comes down to personal comfort level and a demo on a calm day doesn't do you much good either.

For what its worth ($0.02 worth) I consider the Adventure plenty stable with its deeply molded seatwell, low center of gravity and decent secondary stability, heck when I'm covering distance I wish it was even narrower!

IMO the addy isn't unstable. It's a bit tippy initially, but it has good secondary stability. From the sound of it you should look into a revo. Not much less efficient than the addy, FAR more stable, and has the sweet new Lowrance Xducer mount.

You might be right about that, but i already have an outback and i dont think the revo is different/fast enough to justify having both. I guess i could sell the outback and just get a revo. I also just got a new lowrance elite5 and would love to have the new transducer mount. Sorry if i'm hijacking this thread.
