Way to go, Fil. Memory serves, that's about a year long course, right?

Since you'll be in the Potomac/ Chesapeake area, look up the groups there if you have the time. Chesapeake Bay has some great fishing coming up soon too... And don't forget eastern shad and eels at the Conowingo Dam.

its about 6 months, still a PCS.  we are looking at housing right next to the james and appamattox, which would make it right nest to 95 and easy to shoot strait to the chesapeake.  i already linked up with the HOW chapter down there, hopefully i will be able to get out a bunch.

I must have missed the thread about you picking up your steaks and pitching your tent elsewhere.  Where are you headed?  I assume it's the .mil sending you there?

Yup, heading to Fort Lee, VA for my Captains Career Course.  I get promoted on 1 May, just found out today.

Congrats on the promotion!  Good luck out there, and hope to get to fish with you again sometime.

Fil, it looks like you took advantage of the time you had available. It was fun fishing with you and sharing a campfire. I wish you the best as a Captain and your future endeavors in the Army. I hope Virginia treats you just as good as Washington and I hope many more fish meat their demise with "shit on a hook". :-)

Awesome video!...I've watched it a dozen times already and it makes me itch!

You definitely took advantage of your time here and mastered the local angling.

looking forward to hearing about your angling out East...stay in touch!

(PS, always stash an extra door key somewhere hidden underneath the body of your truck for "emergencies"   ;)

Isn't there some kind of ridiculous striper fishing over that way?  You will have to post up a video of an epic  trip!

Best of fortune!

That was my favorite kayak fishing video in a long time. Really something special. Thanks for putting that together. I want to be a yakbum too.

Keep safe, post up some striper action soon. I heard the blue catfish are ridiculous in the Potomac too.

Striper fever is what started this whole addiction, I actually scheduled my class date around the run....and am looking at housing in Hopewell, minutes from the James and Appomattox, world class blue cats and stripers.   2-3 hrs from the beach. hopefully i have time to do it, but from what i heard its a gentleman's course, done by 2 most days.
