We do live in Oregon.   Maybe the conditions will change and improve before the weekend.  I hope they do because I would rather fish Saturday than mow my lawn.

Noah,

Thanks for your feedback.  I looked at the report a few days ago, and it looks like it has changed since.  I am an newbie at the surf launches, so I appreciate the warnings, and coaching.  I don't want to end up on the news!

Friday was my only day to get out there this weekend, as my other days were spoken for "hosting the in-laws".  I think the big waves might be a friendlier option!
No problem, glad I could help! It takes a good amount of time to figure out exactly what the forecast is telling you. Make sure you read the below article from our good buddy Ron, I used to read it at least once a week when I was trying to figure out exactly what all the numbers meant  :)

Very true. Generally 2-3 days out you will have a much better idea. Watch the probability factor on the right of the forecast too.

Saturday would be a very bad day. Without a duration that is at least 12 feet it's going to be ugly. That plus a wind that's over 13 mph would make it even worse. I'd say 100% no no. Sunday might be possible but you will need to give it another day to stabilize.

Thanks for checking it out.  I will plan on a different weekend.  Do you think Tillamook Bay is going to be bad as well?  What website do you normally look at for ocean conditions?  I'd like to start learning how to look at the forecast.  Thanks again.

Tillamook bay is never as bad as open ocean if you want to try to hit it Saturday in the am the wind is good but low tide is 8:46 am so a launch of 6:30-7:00 am is a go, pm me if you want to hit it tomorrow I will take you out if you have the right gear.

True but Tillamook can also get really nasty if there is a heavy wind blowing.

That is the same discussion we were having in PM's. I have found the earlier you go the better it picks up about 11-12 in the after noon. That's the advantage to having a view of the bay out my living room window ;D
