Why do I feel like the dork for using 1/0 VMC hooks with only an 80lb leader?

1/0? Tad small.  I've caught a bunch using 5/0 gamakatsu octopus on 40lbs leader.  My typical salmon set up.

I've been on a few commercial charters where they used much smaller circle hooks (smaller than 16/0) and it seemed to work ok.

Still not s fan of circle hooks.

And of course there are charters that use much bigger circle hooks (20/0).   :P
