Roy.. where you see them talk about "bullhead" you're going to want to substitute "small catfish".

Fern Ridge is definately not a clear lake! There is also a Clear Lake here in Florence. It's the source of water for the Heceta water district. Florence also used to get part of it's water from it. I always wanted to fish it, but there is no public access. As far as Triangle lake, I fished it in the eighties, and caught lots of nice bluegill, and some decent bass. Lots of water skiers though!

Clear lake is 186 miles from Coos Bay, and 135 miles from Florence. Went there in the eighties. Exceptional water quality, very cold.

Dave

This is the one I was talking about. It is marked on the NWKA Google map.

The resident fish out of Dorena & Cottage Grove Reservoirs are loaded with dangerous levels of mercury from the old Bohemia mines. Lookout Point Res would be better (lmb, trout) for catch & fillet. Fern Ridge is kind of dirty, but has some native cutties, crappie, small catfish (don't know what kind), a few lmb & some huge carp (I've seen 4 footers in the Long Tom). I'll be checking out local stretches of the Willy when it's safe & give a report. I'd rather go up to Crescent, Odell, or the McKenzie (Couger, Clear Lake) or Santiam (Foster, Green Peter) for some of those reservoirs. Anybody know anything about Summit Lake (lat. 43.458103, long. -122.122650)? As a public service project, maybe we could assist with cleaning the fish out of Waldo Lake?
