Finally got to some of the pictures from out trip last week.

Got the launch nice and early.

Definitely felt a little strange being on lumpy water. I took it easy going out, at first. Nobody else had shown yet, and I didn't know the area. Fimally got the nerve to go outside and it was tough getting even close to structure.

Eventually CBY and RevoRoy showed up and CBY showed me his favorite area on the southside.

Had to be careful not to drift over a shallow area.

We took the trail down to South Cove at Cape Arago, and I took a picture to give a better idea of the climb. Can't see the little flight of stairs at the bottom. Definitely morte vertical than the stairs at Devil's Punchbowl.

Went out at Sunset today. Got 5 blacks (one 20", two 18" & two 16") & a 16" kelp greenling. Now the newest AOTY contestant.

Wow, nice job PNW! Visions of blacks like those are what led me to drive 900+ miles RT from Stanwood, WA to Coos Bay in March. The blacks didn't cooperate on that trip, but I'll be back. Hope we can meet next time!

Roy, the day I went out with you guys I wonder if we could have found clearer water by heading north. On rough days like that day, though, it's probably best to pick one or the other and stick with it...right?

PS, Roy, I belatedly figured out that you left me a voicemail answering my shrink-tubing question. The guy at the hardware store helped me out. I think it's the same stuff you guys used.  Thanks!

Nice photos, Bill! Especially the first one.

As tough as the conditions were, it's cool that you at least got the one black for AOTY!

Maybe we could have, but i think it was  turned up everywhere that day. I agree on pick a spot if it's rough and just work it hard. It's a trug from the south side to north side if you can't cross the beachhead.

I'm gonna try north tomorrow if the swell cooperates, i just wish eagle would hurry up and send me my FF back. There fixing it for free after the year warranty so i don't wanna complain too much , but i hate fishing blind!!
See ya on the water..
