Thanks everyone for the tips.  I don't have a lot of tools so I ended buying a Wheeleez Kayak Canoe Cart from West Marine.  I guess they discontinued carrying them.  I got it for $78 plus tax.  It will have to do for now until I can find the beach version on sale.
