not to sound more ignorant but if you intend to fish for greenling as live bait, do they still need to be 10"?

Nice report guys. It looks like everyone took home some dinner last night. Nice job to LingBanger too for biggest fish. Did you all pay him $5 and give him Ninkasi's? :) Nice job to Langcod too for popping his cherry in the salt. :)

I dodged him at the ramp and skipped out before he could collect my $5 :)

Thanks to Noah, Langston and Dana for showing up so I didn't have to fish by myself. And then that's exactly what I did. Those three were little far away dots for most of the day. I went down towards Whale Cove for the early shift and then up past the N. Reef in the afternoon after the wind died down.

Weather was perfect, a little mist in the morning, then overcast the rest of the day.

I marked a few schools of rockfish on the paddle south, but wanted to get my lings. Never did find them again, but the ling bite was on all day. Got 2 keepers and 10 unders. No cabs and no blacks. No whales, no porpoises and very few birds, which I thought was strange. My Uncle with the ocean view said he saw whales every day this week. We had the ramp and parking lot all to ourselves which was nice, not one powerboat launched with us.

Thanks to the Coast Guard also, they had nothing better to do than keep tabs on us. We got a cool fly-over with the helo, and personal check out service on the ramp asking if our entire group made it back safely. Tax money in action!

Thanks guys, great day!
There is lots of kelp from last year, and it's full of babies. Good news for future trips.

Lingbanger. That's real cool 8) of the Coasties. I've seen them save guys when I lived in the Redwood Coast area.  :icon_salut: to the red & white men.

Another great day on the water.  Thank's Noah, Langston and Lingbanger a good day of fishing.  It's allways nice when you see the coasties paying attention to.  I caught 2 underling's, 2 keeper Ling's, 2 nice Cab's (out of season), and a big sculpin.  The ocean a lot nicer than I thought it would be.
hear are a few more pic's of the day. ;D
