What about using a pedestal base instead of the side base?
Ding Ding! We have a winner. Excellent suggestion. That is what I did. Kind of a big thing to mount on there but oh well. Thinking Im going to have flush rails is just that, wishful thinking. I was simulating a fish strike. Sure does make the hull bend and what not but I don't think its gonna hurt it.
