It's been a while since I've been on here, ok a lot longer than a while. I moved down to Wilsonville recently and been thinking of going for springers above the falls once they start coming over it. I'll do a little write up once I've done some scouting but was wondering if anybody has done any springer targeting above the falls with any success.

I was looking at the area from the I-5 Bridge downriver to Molalla River State Park. I found a nice little launch site right around there, thanks google maps.

Like any fisheries certain locations out produce others, take notice why and press repeat on other similar locations. Troll spinners, watch the falls counts, the water temps and you will most likely develop a deep hatred for the vegetation (milfoil, etc.) that comes down river once the water temps warm.

If I were you I'd drive downriver 20 minutes to below the falls and increase you chances of actually catching a fish many fold.

I'd fish Springers in the same area you caught one last year. If you want to hit an area close to home I'd go look for some Sturgeon you can keep. If only you owned an anchor ;)

I had been thinking, we are all looking for that edge. The falls is the first count with in a close drive... so with a little extra info on how many have gone over what could it hurt? I'll probably waste some time on it this year but I'll definitely be hitting some of the place I know to be fruitful.
