doesn't look like either of those have a 12V output.  Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see it.  I've been using the blue battery from China for a little over a year (9600mAh) and it does a great job powering a Lowrance Elite4 Chirp all day.

I use an old SLA 3 short days or 2 long days before I gotta recharge. But I'm old school " There's no school like old school"

ndogg,

Are these still working well for you? At $20 for the 15000mAh on Amazon now I might get 3 of them if they're worth it.

Also found these:

20000mAh for $30. I'm not too savvy with this stuff yet. What do you experts think? They take about a month to deliver, so I wanna order soon so I can have them in May when I outfit my boat.

Won't work.  It has only USB (5.0V) output.  You need one with a 12vDC output.

I bought a bunch of these at Christmas as gifts. It has a 12V/2A tap. I use it to play with my Humminbird on the kitchen table. Should work, though you are likely to find something similar without all the other stuff.

I'm thinking about getting this ff http://www.amazon.com/Lowrance-000-11652-001-Elite-5-CHIRP-Transducer/dp/B00JB9WNXS/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1460573840&sr=8-8&keywords=lowrance+elite+5+CHIRP

1. Is the offer for $340 a good deal? I can't tell if I'm missing anything significant.

2. How well would that battery run the Elite 5 CHIRP?

According to lowrance  the power draw is 1.1A so you would want a minimum of a 10,000mah battery for an 8 hour day assuming that the battery is not 100% efficient. Of course the battery usage is probably changed depending on if the GPS is on/off and screen brightness. The one you've

You are not going to get the battery life you'll want out of that battery with a current draw of 1.1 amps. I have one of those batteries and I tested it on my sonar drawing about 0.5 to 0.6 amps. I didn't get 6 hours of run time out of it. So at 1.1 amps you'd be lucky to get 3 hours on it.

That takes me back to the 20000mAh blue brick then. What kind of run time would I be looking at?

I would guess you'd be looking at... 4? ..maybe 5 hours tops.  I hate the way these companies play games with their rating numbers. It makes it really tough to know the real performance you should expect.

I recommend looking into tried and true technology, like lead acid batteries.

Sorry to get off topic but.........

After 8 pages of discussion about Blue Batteries--- it all comes back to KISS.

I charge,  I use then charge again for the next fishing trip.   I find it pretty simple and with the weight savings have no regrets not going the SLA route.  I also have no problems with those who use SLA batteries.

If SLA batteries were the only technology in rechargeable batteries,  no doubt several of us would be testing various brands and different means of charging them.
I used to think that Bigfoot might exist. Then I saw the reality shows where they are looking for them.  Now I am certain they don't
