Would love to do that, but you'd need serious Mojo with the forecast.

Yeah, I don't think you can plan a set date.  It has to be one of those things where you identify an upcoming window in the next few days and go for it.

Agreed & Agreed and I want to do that one too, a bit less of a gamble strait side.  I'd be up for that La Push trip though.

OhB,
Is  it possible to take the Makah Passage road from NB over to the Pacific side?

Yeah, that's how you drive to Hobuck.  You can't paddle through there if that's what you mean.

Is that the one that runs parallel to the road to Hobuck or the one that circles around to Cape Flattery via the dump?  Well It used to be but I haven't tried it in a long time.  Why?

Thanks Lee, thats what i was looking at.

Oh B, Was just sitting here doing a bit of online scouting, not realizing where i was exactly, and saw the cut over to Hobuck.

Was thinking: Go south off the beach from there down towards the Arches and continue further down over the next few days, which would put us headed south on the WA Kayak trail towards Ocean Shores.

Yes, we were talking about an overnight camp trip to that area last spring, I would still love to do it, but I also like the idea of getting away from the surf, it changes so fast on our coast and I don't like the idea of getting stuck on shore should the swell come up overnight.  I would be up for a trip like this with Guys who know there stuff and can handle some sizable surf.  I 've watched the surf go from tame to nasty in just a few hours time around here and while I'm up for the risk and think I could probably pound my way out after a few attempts getting back in could be ugly.  Think a one day scout trip would be a good idea for a coastal trip like that.  But I know the coast from Wadah Island to Pillar point pretty well, it's in my comfort zone even in bad conditions.

Well I would happily amend my plans if that is the way things went.  But I like to Salmon fish, Should be some King's on a trip like that though and maybe a plenty.

Hey guys take a look at this map of campsites in the Olympic National Park.

http://www.nps.gov/olym/planyourvisit/upload/WildernessMap.pdf

I am planning a trip out there myself after doing a small section of my intended route last summer.

I've done LaPush to Oil city with a surfboard and fishing rod tied to my backpack. It was unbelieveably beautiful.
Might have to do it with a surfboard and fishing rod tied to my kayak one of these days.

Well, hope we can pull something like this together this year, but this is shoemans post and he's looking for an inland route I think.  Spose we should post another Ocean trip Dream/Plan, any serious takers?
