When is AOTY going to be up?! I've got to upload my perch.. :)

In Northern Thailand now.  Thought I'd share some jungle perch photo of the fish my dad and I caught..  Fishing for these fish is much like bass fishing.  You use top water lures like Rapalas and frog patterns and cast when you see them boiling at the surface.  Good fighting fish.

We were reluctant to catch any Giant Snakeheads but saw a few protecting their young.  To find snakeheads you look for their fry that stay in a tight bait ball and rise to the surface.  The fry are bright red in color and it looks like blood rising to the surgace. The big parents lie beneath and will strike if they are in harms way,

That is so cool! That last one is so unique, is that a type of snakehead?

Giant snakehead of Thailand.  These will soon be a part of our native fish in certain parts of the US (east coast) as they have no predators and breed easily.

I bet it fights like a champ when hooked.

Fights like a champ, can cross dry land to spread, and eliminates the competition rapidly.  Pretty much a disaster fish on the North American Continent.
