Ok. Made it to Anchor Point. Wake up to 15deg, forecast for 3ft, gusts to 20mph in Honer.

So eating breakfast at Anchor Point Inn. Will head out soon as conditions are supposed to improve.  More to come!

Nothing yet. More bait in water but no love from the kings.

Just a matter of time now, Rudy.  Looks like a great day out there. Did you get out by the kelp beds?

On your way back, as you pass the Upper Kenai, would you give it a quick look to assess the extent of ice shelves through that stretch.  I'd like to float it a couple of times before they close it for spawning -- wouldn't mind starting the season with a girthy Kenai rainbow or DV before turning most of my attention to the salt.

Well no love today. But a solid five hours of fishing. Looked promising at low tide with pockets of bait. But as tide turned all the bait vanished.

Bishop Beach looks completely doable from what I can see.  Argh, don't want to risk driving it with one vehicle. 4 wheelers or 6. Would be easy.

Well try it again tomorrow hopefully. Afternoon flattened out a bit.

Thanks for the visual -- Michele sure takes some pretty pictures.  The river looks great -- I think I'll try to sneak down this week.  Hope to fish it a a couple of times before it's closed for spawning.

As others have pointed out, the scenery, fresh air, and exercise should, would be enough for any normal human being. I unfortunately spent the five hours concentrated pretty much on the tip of my rod!

I take in the scenery only after I've limited out. Which in Homer for kings with a two fish limit is once in about 7 tries.  Lol.
