Hi. Looking at getting into a kayak.

Just started looking at getting a kayak so I can fish with my buddies.

Never been in a kayak before. Well I was probably 15 years ago as a Boy Scout. I have been on the water a lot with bigger boats and small float tubes. I would like a 12ft as I live on foster lake and only minutes from green better and they are both good size bodies of water. I would like the extra space for gear too. I don't really want to spend much more than $500 on my first kayak as it probably won't get used much more than a dozen times a year.

Welcome BennettOZ!  You should be able to find a yak here or on Craigslist that'll fit the bill.

I doubt you'll be able to use it only 12 times a year. That just sounds depressing 

With this as my back yard I hope I can toss it in that much.

That's one fine looking backyard.
