This was my 1st time ever kayaking on the big river, and I had a blast! I feel fortunate to have connected with this great group of anglers. I learned quite a few things about Salmon fishing, and my choice of solo SOT kayak was definitely validated today. Awesome paddling Spot's OK Trident 13!...can't wait for my new one in Sunrise color to be delivered...it better be here on Monday. ;D

Well no fish today, but I fined tuned my troll and got into the groove.

So that being said anybody who wants to go out on the Willamette tomorrow somewhere near the Sellwood Bridge just let me know. You can send me a PM or just show up at Sellwood Riverfront park at 9 AM . Hopefully they will be biting , cause I got a fever, springer fever!!!

-Bernie

I'm going to head to Sellwood this morning to see if I can meet-up with Bernie, and give the Williamette a whirl.  Anyone else fishing there this morning?

Since we didn't bring any fish back during the clinic, thought I'd share a couple photos showing we actually made it onto the water...

That's about all I got.  Thanks again!!!

Did we have a close count on how many kayaks we had out there?

I haven't even looked at the photos on my camera yet.

I believe I counted 20 yaks that day.

Great spot to get everyone together...my question -will you go back? Started trying for springers last year at Davis. Definitely a good workout...troll downhill 10 mins, sprint back up to the barges(20 mins),repeat. Go get a beer, buy an Or license....troll both ways on lake willamette, much easier! Looking for big C launch points ....maybe  try spot by Who songs and get in the madness! Anyone try I-5 area?

I've been fishing Davis for the last couple of years.  It's not that bad if you time the tides right.
If you think Davis is a workout, you definitely won't like I5.  At least at Davis the current slows near shore.

Yeah, maybe the tide was rippin that day...it was cardio back to the top,and too fast to the bottom....fishing time seemed minimal. Havent done I-5 since power boat days ..yep,lots of current...when going over bridge,it seems a nice leisurely troll going on,lol.Been meaning to go look at west end of haydn island(past trailer park)...used to be accessible beach by the RR bridge.Probably industrial now.
