For you youngsters who weren't rockin' out 20 years ago, enjoy:

Too bad the ass forgot his hat, but I digress.

Well, my future is still bright but it's a little late for the shades. Can you say "UV Keratitis"? It's similar to Snow Blindness and it is not a pretty sight.

At yesterday's HOW Event we had a beautiful sunny day and in the excitement to get the vets on the water I left three perfectly good pairs of shades in my car.

So here's the lesson, unless you want to look like this, WEAR UV PROTECTION SUNGLASSES WHEN YOU'RE ON THE WATER!

Yikes!  I feel for ya, I actually had this happen to me a few years back while fishing in Brasil. Left two good shades in the room and went out without them. Sunburned eyeballs, no fun at all. Now my eyes are super light sensitive and I wear shades pretty much all the time, even when it's cloudy. A good set of polarized glasses is a must, plus it makes it easier to see through the water. Get well and take it easy! Remember those shades next time!

Made my eyes water just to look at the photo.

Since its actually been sunny the last week or so I've been meaning to get a decent pair of shades again.  Certainly a must before fishing again.

Also - when putting on sunscreen, don't forget the inside of the ear.  DAMHIK.

I remembered the sun glasses this weekend but I forgot the sunblock.  :(

I got a little cooked while out bass fishing.

I feel for you!
I too have forgotten proper eye wear and suffered the sun's brightness while snow skiing and beach outings several times...

Thank you for posting the tune; excellent!!

I have at least 1 pair of glasses in each vehicle and 1 pair in my fishing gear. All but one are polarized. I got a set of the Strike King glasses this last X-Mas and they are great! They are very well priced at $15-32 on Amazon, and all models are polarized, but the SK Plus line is also has 100% UVA and UVB protection.

I do not work for Strike King but they offer an awesome product at a great price.

Ouch! Does that hurt? That'll draw some second looks. Hope it resolves quickly. Meanwhile, let folks wonder about the mysterious guy in shades even while grocery shopping.

Aytch-

Man that hurts just looking.  I've always had sensitive eyes, but never like that!  Hope it clears up soon...

Younggun - thanks for the recommendation on the Strike Kings.  I'm always looking for decent sunglasses at great prices.  Can't stand spending a lot for them, as the more one pays for sunglasses, the "slipperier" they become!

You're welcome. I have a little bit of a sunglasses thing. I've had some "slippery" sunglasses as well. I've finally learned my lesson and now go for the best deal I can find, which so far had been the Strike Kings. Also, being plastic they wont bend or break if you should drop a kayak or something like that on them. DAMHIK

I think I exacerbated my problem since I'd been fighting allergies, I already had itchy eyes and I was rubbing pond scum and fish juice into them all day. I'm lucky I didn't wind up with River Blindness! Doc gave me three eye drops to use for 5 days: antibiotic, NSAID and ClearEyes for wetting and lubrication. Already getting much better.

This morning I did Hot Yoga and all the sweat actually felt good running in my eyes.
