I think I have about $1100 before the drives. I did save some money by cut the parts myself. Which I don't think I would do again.

Still, not too shabby.  Have you been able to test them head to head with Hobie Mirage drive yaks?  In terms of length and width it would seem your would be closest to the Adventure.  Be neat to see a comparo on the performance in different conditions.

One thing is different: they weigh 30 pounds less than the Adventure: 50 vs 80 lbs. That's a big difference!

Those are gorgeous boats.  I have built a few myself and had planned to put a mirage drive in one but I got lazy and bought a Hobie. They take a lot of work to build. You were smart and did two at once.

I wouldn't have made two if I did build them at the same time . At somewhere between 100 - 120 hours a boat. Someone might decide to go fishing instead.
