So I'm new to kayaking but decided I would build two of them (one for the wife too). it's taken a little over a year to build them. I finally got them in the water on friday. It was a beautiful day and all went well. They're sit on top and self bailing. I've put Hobie Mirage drives in them. Still have a few details, like rudders, paddle holders. I've been fly fishing for the last 4 years. But want to catch a salmon this year, so planning on getting some new fishing gear. Just thought I'd introduce myself and say hi.

And hear I am thinking my homemade rod leash was clever. Those look great! I'd like to see some more detailed pictures though. Awesome boats!

Nathan those boats look awesome... Gorgeous lines, user friendly and ready to catch fish. Probably fast as hell too.
Congrats

Those are beautiful !       Love the way you reversed the colors.    What is the net weight ? ( without the mirage drive )

I built a strip plank kayak 5 years ago,,,   I can totally appreciate the amount of time that went into those.

Beautiful works of art!  Which design did you use, or did you come up with it yourself?  I'd love to see MORE pictures!  And any of the build process too ....

Those are killer.

Carnac the Magnificent sees you and Craig, a drawing board and a few beers together in the not so distant future. (Craig is the other resident wood crafter/artiste on this board.)

Very nice.  Was the drive included in the plans or was that a custom modification?

I look forward to it . I've been a builder all my life, first boats. I hear it can be addictive.

The drive well was custom.
