Hi folks, I am new to the forum and kayaking.  Just purchased a Wilderness Tarpon 120 and I am beginning to set it up for fishing.  Any advice is welcomed.   Just moved to the Tacoma area from Fairbanks, AK and I'm excited to learn something new from my fellow anglers.  I look forward to reading your post and exploring the local area and eventually the Sound.   Fish on!

Welcome to the site.

I know this is like beating a dead horse on here but think "safety first."  Getting the proper gear can save your life.

Welcome...when I saw the "fishin' is the mission" I figured you'd just PCS'd from Eilson as that's the semi-official mission statement there...I have some time there myself.
I'm out at McChord and live onbase...there are several of us that can show you the ropes and the good spots...many right in our backyard.

Thanks guys.

Justin-  I could not agree more about safety.  Point taken.  I hope to be around for a while..

Nangusdog- Yep you guessed it.  AF retired.  I was very fortunate with 4-tours in the last frontier, by way of the ROK.  I'm living within a stones throw of American Lake currently and am beginning to get more comfortable with the kayak.  Currently working on some accessories for the trax system.  I am all eyes and ears lately and this board is fantastic.

Welcome Nanookwa, I'm out at McChord as well and live down in Lacey.  We'll definitely all have to hit the water!

If the Gravelly Lake gate is open, I'm just 1.3 miles from the East shore boat launch on American lake...needless to say, I fish there three or four times a week. I'm in an ivory Hobie Outback...say hello if you see me out there.
