I just bought a GoPro and I'm buying a Scotty camera mount for it. I have the triangular Scotty base that will adapt to my YakAttack Mighty Mount and then slide on to my GeatTrac. I need something to get a higher vantage point.
Does anyone know of a pole that will fit in the Scotty base? I don't want to buy a light pole or a flag pole of the sorts that Scotty sells. Any ideas on what I can use? I can't seem to find anything.

That looks pretty good. Will that build fit in a Scotty base?

It doesn't have the scotty connector on the end.  I just extend it all the way out and put it into the built in rod holder behind me.  It's a great angle to get all of the action in front of you.

I will look into that. That is a fairly cheap build. It's crazy the amount of money it costs for a fancy camera pole!

Check out the pics of my Yak in this thread (the yellow one).  It shows (kind of) how high the pole can sit.

The camera isn't on in these photos so don't worry about it pointing straight down at the water. :)

That looks good to me! How are you keeping it from falling out? Sorry about the barrage of questions. I have watched your videos. That is a good camera angle for sure.

I have a bungy cord permanently attached to it that connects to the Yak just in case it goes for a swim.

The extra bungy cord can be jammed into the rod holder with the camera rod to make it a nice tight fit.

Sweet, thanks. That is pretty straight forward. I'm going to do a little more research. I'll let you know if I decide on that design.
