Brad and I fished Pot Holes and several of the seep lakes this week. The conditions were perfect Tuesday afternoon thru Thursday with north winds limiting the options on Friday. We put in some long 14+ hour days on the water covering a lot of areas we haven't been to yet. The fish were few and far between. Our target species was Walleye, and we scored just six of these or about 1 fish per 12 hours of effort. These fish are hard to find, but don't hesitate to take the bait once they see it. The bass bite was very slow also, even the pro-bassers were complaining how hard it was to produce a fish or two per day and they were fishing a tournament. The only fishery that was not slow was the stock trout bite in the smaller lakes, but after a couple dozen of those it's time to move along. Even with the slow fishing, the scenery out there is worth putting the time in.
