How late do you usually fish? The only time I can fish during the week is after 2pm ...assuming I find a baby sitter for the wee one. I'd love to fish SR. I have yet to make it down that far.

I could plan a later start time  one day if you want to go down to SR. i just like to go early to avoid the wind. find a day that has the best afternoon forecast and lets do it.

I'll get back to you on that. I'm sure Merz would be up for it, too. I saw three guys paddle out that way on Sunday. One of the guys came back with an almost 22 inch black!

I can only fish during the week after 4pm. I went out last night from around 5:30-7:30. Fished near the lighthouse. Only caught one black and a greenling. Im headed up to tahkenitch right now to look for a cutthroat or a yellow perch, or a bass maybe. I will probably fish sunset tomorrow around 4:30.   I want to try for a Coos Bay sturgeon this week also.

It is pretty nice but it gets kinda boring and a little creepy sometimes out by myself, especially when the fishing sucks . It was windy again today, at 7 AM it was windy!

slow fishing. Two nice lings came unbuttoned, landed an average 25 incher and 3 blacks, all still swimming or at least were when i tossed 'em back

See what happens tomorrow.

Did you do any good at tahkenitch merz? still haven't fished that lake.

I can't say that I ever get bored on the water. I get plenty irritated when I get hung up or lose fish, though.
Also...I think I might be getting sick. It's that or severe allergies. I'm debating calling in tomorrow. I think if I tough it out tomorrow then I'll look like a champion and calling off Thursday and Friday won't look so bad. Those days look good for fishing according to MSW. The wind is down on Friday!
Roy, I'll send you a pm if I am able to fish Thursday or Friday. I will for certain be fishing saturday though.

It is my favorite lake. The fishing is never that great, but it has the best scenery. Go around the back side on fivemile road and fish the fivemile arm. Really nice place to just paddle around. Lots of beavers, bald eagles, bullfrogs, mink..  I also catch coho back there in the fall.
Tonight I did about as good as I have ever done there. Caught about a dozen cutts in 2 hours. Lost at least that many. Couldnt keep them on the hook. Most were around 11 inches, but I lost one at the boat that looked around 16. I kept one that i hooked in the gills. I'm eating it right now and I think it tastes better than a rainbow. Didnt have time to try for perch or bass. The water felt really warm, so i would imagine the bass should be biting.

I will probably go back up there this week. Its seemed very relaxing compared to fishing the ocean.

CT's are yummy. Bull frogs taste ok, kind of rich. caught lots of them on light tackle w/ night crawler, no weight. look for the eyeballs at the surface & land a night crawler on the nearest lily-pad in the shallows & let it wiggle around. let the frog take it, swim away, then set the hook. circle hooks might work good.

I am going to try and make it down on Friday. Looks like a good day to break in the Outback on the salt!

I caught a limit of trout in it today at Munsel!
