I'll wait for Kardinal's call on the morning, but the only question in our house now is whether to depart late tonight in the middle of the snow, or depart early tomorrow morning in the middle of the snow. "Winter Weather Advisory" might keep some folks off the roads, but not us. Totally stoked -- I'll be fishing tomorrow and Sunday.

Ok I am officially proclaiming the derby open for Saturday.  I reserve the right to make an additional call at the beach at 6am but as of this moment.....

Comparing what the spot forecast is saying right now and what I'm actually observing, I'd say its pretty accurate.

Sure doesn't look like its gonna snow though!

I'm not going to fish kings tonight but I will look for big butts'!

Ok. I'm at the beach. Surf is up big time!!! Can't launch in this.  So no go as of now. But we will keep eye on it.  Snowing with direct west wind. Argh. Spot forecast doesn't say this.

5:20am update. Seems to be flattening a little. Still not anywhere near a go call.

I've never seen a marine forecast that reads

.TODAY...NW WIND 20 KT. GUSTS TO 35 KT OUT OF BAYS AND PASSES. SEAS
4 FT.
.TONIGHT...NW WIND 15 KT. GUSTS TO 25 KT OUT OF BAYS AND PASSES IN

Spot forecast is better....

Lol. Yup it looks sporty. The 1pm tide window is looking better but big surf crashing still on shore.  Still have time no sense pushing it now.

So still on weather delay.

Given the tides, next reasonable attempt will be in the 7pm to 8pm time frame.
