So they showed a clip of people that were at deep creek this weekend fishing. They had two orcas come up to the boat and nudge on it they said. Ugh. Didn't think those things were around until august

I know these things are apex predators, but short of mistaking a kayak for a sea lion, are they a threat to you guys up there?

I don't know. The few clips I have seen of the way they behave up here puts me a little at unease. They are definetley not shy about nosing around big power boats. Even if they won't ever eat me I wouldn't want them flipping me out of the kayak

I think I would want to paint the bottom of my kayak so somehow it looked like an Orca
Don't want to be confuse with something on their dinner menu.
Just in case,  I would want it to look like a very very very UGLY female Orca    ;D

I used to think that Bigfoot might exist. Then I saw the reality shows where they are looking for them.  Now I am certain they don't

They are way to smart to mistake a kayak for a sea lion. But one day one of them might get curious and dump out that creature that is floating on that log to check it out!

Wikipedia says that there are extremely few attacks by orcas, in the wild, on humans, and no fatal - most were considered mistakes while chasing seals. Just dont take your kayak to Sea World.
