So you think you live in the state with the best Kayak Anglers?  Well here's your chance to prove it.  Check it out at this LINK.

Let the trash talking begin, but be prepared to back it up on May 31 and June 1.

B-R-I-N-G  I-T  O-N!!!  You're going to need your best game to keep up with the Washington Crew.

So does that include Speckled Trout?

Hmmm ... what's the length range on speckled trout? Would love to figure out a way to get you guys down there involved.

It doesn't specify what kind of trout, so i don't see why not a speckled trout.

Sooooo, whos up for a trip to Crescent,Paulina, or Odell lake at the end of may? Rack up some big AOTY points and win the family fued.
See ya on the water..

Allen:

12" is legal and up to 30" RARE. Average about 15", 18" to 20" is a good fish.

CBY:
Well, the main problem is that they are not actually trout. It's in the Drum and Croaker family, but everybody knows them (at least down here) as Speckled Trout.

After 4 days of snow camping and ski touring around Paulina Lake during Spring Break, I'm looking forward to getting up there during the early ice out...hopefully before stinky motor boats have any real access.

Wally, put me in contact with the admin at your favorite southern kayak fishing site ... perhaps we can do a southern division or concurrent Feuds.

Guys, this is a totally casual deal ... bragging rights at stake mostly.  The nominal entry fee is just so there is some skin in the game.

Hey Roy,

I guess this puts a date on our plan to meet up and hit those Central Oregon lakes. I'll start to figure out camping/launching options.  Anyone else?

Shh, don't anyone tell the guys in Idaho about this thing.. Idaho Fish and Game stocks just about anything and everything in their lakes and big trout are on top of that list.  I just saw the new post about Priest Lake which incidentally holds the ID state record Lake Trout at 57 lbs 8 oz :notworthy:

I might be interested in checking out some of those lakes BSteve and Coosbayyakker.

Too bad that's the weekend after Memorial Day.  It'll have to be a short weekend trip, but would love to check it out with some other Yak Fishers.

Hmm, maybe I should take the whole week off and check out some other places as well.

A site worth considering is Crane Prairie Res. There are sizable LMB (5-6 lb not unusual) and RB/Brook trout of equal size. Bad: motor boats allowed. Good: 10 MPH speed limit on the entire lake, and add to that a *lot* of submerged stumps and trees in the water where the smoke blowers can't go, it might make a nice KF lake. It'd definitely be a weekend trip.

Allen, it seems like you left your Hawaiian Brothers out, can we enter Mahi instead. Issac might not share his secret spots when you come and visit.

I know Ed.  Sorry about that.  I just couldn't figure a way to include you guys this time around.    We'll get you guys in next time.

Hey, you going to be around April 25-29.  I'll be on your Island then ... hopefully you don't run me off.
