OK ... that was funny.  Same with your OR post.

If faced with a situation where a lack of skill applies, one can always fall back on humor.  You OR guys sure are humorous.   ;D

Lake Chelan Lakers.
Cle Elum Lake Lakers.
Omak Lake Lahontons.
Lake Lenore Lahontons.
Rufus Woods Triploids.
Skagit River Dollies.
Some steelhead somewhere?  where?

Anyone want to add to the list?  Let's toss out a few more options, then we can start talking strategy.

Kind of between runs.  Perhaps find an early summer run.  But it's hit and miss.  You would be lucky to find one on a yak, let alone 2.

So steelhead are in then.. good.

Late May early June is probably the peak on the Willamette for summer run steelhead.  In fact, there have been summer steelhead showing up around Portland now since early March.

Last year there where several hundred summer steelhead over the Willamette Falls fishway each day in late May/early June with the highest per day count for the year being on May 30th.
Looking through the archives shows that May/June is consistantly the peak run.

Here's May 2007..

People are already catching summers on the Cow, along with springers. When the wetside rivers open 6/1, there will be more summers in a bunch of them- the Sky, the Stillie, the OP rivers...

Lakers are supposed to be headed to the upper part of Chelan, which is wickedly deep- like 1600 feet. I'm guessing those badboys were caught trolling the upper basin.

So I really keep coming back to Cle Elum Lake.  Who else might be up for that?  It's close to Seattle and we can camp there too.  Perhaps if there is enough interest we can reserve the group spot.  Will also probably talk the girlfriend into coming too, so it won't be a hardcore fishing weekend, but she'll have a kayak too, so we'll "share" some time on the water.
