I was planning a nice little weekend starting out of whittier. Has anyone heard of good things coming out of whittier? After that we were planning on heading to ninilchik. Is fishing outside down by whiskey gulch for kings again ok? I havent checked the regs. I was also thinkin maybe seward or homer later in the weekend? Let me know what you guys think.

It's great fun finding these places on Google maps.  So much water up there.  Carry on...
...as soon as the Advil kicks in...

On Whittier, you could try for some rockfish just out from the mouth of Smitty's Cove or better yet down to Shotgun Cove. It's early for Whittier, but the marine forecast looks nice for a day on the water.  Fishing out of Whiskey Gulch should be fine; kings are there and the regs permit it closer to shore than most of the launches down that way. The tides are big this weekend though -- I think the current at max ebb on Saturday at Anchor Point is estimated at +5.5 knots around 9:45 am.  Have fun!

Almost a 25 ft swing this weekend.  Watch out, you might end up in ANC or Kodiak.  Lots of clammers already down here.
No matter how many times the PB's tell me I'm nuts....I still smile every time I out fish them

If you decide on Whittier, and you happen to see a green Heritage Reddish with a funny looking bracket on the back then paddle over and say hey.

Hey Willw -- The Way Better Half and I are thinking that Whittier tomorrow is the way to go before huddling at the cabin for the balance of the weekend.  I'll look for your yak -- and you should keep your eyes peeled for a yellow Hobie Revo and a gray Ocean Currents SINK -- we're heading to Shotgun Cove on the morning flood tide.  It'd be nice to meet you.
