Shimano Reels

I'm not up to speed so much on the Shimano conventional reels.  Can anyone summarize for me?

The shimano baitcaster model names start with "C" and the pure convential reel names start with "T".  The larger the model the number the larger the reel.

I personally have my eye on a Shimano Tekota 500 or 600 for salmon and a Torium 30 or 50 for bottom fish.  That's not to say that I don't have my eye on a few Abu, Daiwa, Okuma, etc.. reels as well.
