Tried to order one of these but I can't find one in stock anywhere.  Anyone know where I can find an 8 inch double socket extension for the 1 inch ball?

I'm not sure if RAM makes them. YakAttack has a "dogbone" which is a double ball extension.

Of course, I ordered one through NA awhile back and it hasn't arrived yet. (Fiskari - what's up with that anyway?)

Hmm... I'm stumped. I can't even find it on the RAM site.

I would probably send RAM the part number (RAP-B-201-V8U) via email and buy it directly from them. Or try to give them a call.
They're a Seattle company aren't they? Are you close enough to stop by and look around? (sounds like fun IMO)

*lightbulb on*

Manufacturer Description
The High Strength Plastic Extended Double Socket Arm has a socket at either end to allow a 1" diameter ball accessories to be connected.

The arm consists of a 8" PVC Pipe with 1" Socket arms connected at either end. On the side of each arm, there is a tightening screw which enables the sockets to clamp firmly on a RAM 1" diameter ball. When loosening the arm side screw you are able to pivot the ball and socket connection, or disconnect the ball completely from the socket.

Each arm is 1.75" long which connects to a button to pipe socket. The total length of the arm measures approximately 13.1". You can make the arm shorter by cutting the PVC pipe.

(2) B-200-1U + (2) RAP-276U + (1) RAP-PP-1108

This will let you make the piece as long or short as you want.

Lee,

I get most of my RAM and RAP parts from TheMountDepot.com.

Looks like they have the RAP-B-200-1U.....
http://www.themountdepot.com/RAP_B_200_1U_p/rap-b-200-1u.htm

and the RAP-276U.....
http://www.themountdepot.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=RAP-276U

....both in stock.

The PVC looks like they only have the 6" RAP-PP-1106 and 12" RAP-PP-1112 available at the moment.
You could always hack down a 12" one to whatever you really need.

Great ideas guys.  I'll either do that option or the dog bone option.
